TUNISIAN SALSA or MECHOUIA Photos

So I made Mechouia the other day and took the opportunity to take some pictures.

GRILL THE VEGETABLES,











UNTIL THEY LOOK LIKE THIS.


















PEEL ALL OF THE SKINS OFF AND I LEAVE THE SEEDS BUT IT'S UP TO YOU.

I USE A TOMATO CRUSHER THAT IS USED TO MAKE TOMATO SAUCE, BUT YOU CAN USE A BLENDER, CHOPPER OR KNIFE.












CRUSH EVERYTHING.



ADD SALT, PEPPER AND OLIVE OLIVE.











VOILA!

Ah so you use bell peppers, for a sweet machwiya... my MIL uses fire-breathing-dragon ones, Heh-heh. But I love it! YUM! Now I want some!

My husband is Tunsi also ;) Shamefully I do not know how to make Mechouia. What other recipes might you have?

Harissa kills my stomach lol.

I would love to surprise my husband with an authentic Tunisian meal.
